Happy Anni To Us!

ONE WHOLE YEAR.

Wow. Probably the fastest year to date. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was walking down the aisle wearing this gorgeous white dress and standing at the alter prepared to say “I do”, while also nervous as all heck! Can I just be a bride again please?

Our first year of marriage has been an exploration of love, fulfilling dreams, and finding myself.

Today, on our 1 year anniversary as husband and wife we spent the day scrubbing down bathrooms, painting walls, and power washing the yard. Romantic, I know.

18615- You’ve been so good to us and our little family. These past 4 years you’ve been a place we’ve been overjoyed to call home. We hope we can find a new family that will be just as happy to come home to you as we were!

Cheers to 1 year of marriage with this stud, but also to new beginnings. I can’t wait to find our forever home, Kade.

Yummy Paleo Pancakes

Alright guys, can we just give a big round of applause for the hubby and I! We recently made the decision to start living a full paleo lifestyle, and I’m not going to lie, the first few weeks were ROUGH. Nutritionists are right- sugar is an addition, and boyyy was I an addict. The first week I had constant headaches from being sugar deprived. I’m also not a big fan of coffee without the added sugar and milk, so I limited my caffeine consumption, which I’m sure added to the dreadful daily headaches.

There truly is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you started paleo and you’re beginning to question you why even started, DO NOT GIVE UP. You got this, and I am here for you. Drink some water and suck it up, because once you get past week three, you will feel like a million bucks!

Kaden and I have always been decently healthy when cooing at home, however with paleo you should not consume any dairy, bread, rice, pasta, or sugar. This means no milk, cheese, or my favorite Dryers Mint Chip ice cream. I may have eaten a whole carton of it before going paleo, but that’s beside the point.

We quickly realized that every meal we were already used to cooking could quickly be altered to fit our new lifestyle. Amen to coconuts!! Coconut milk, flour, and oil have become my new best friend and we use these babies in everything. Like these delicious paleo pancakes!

When we’re om the go and have limited time to whip up breakfast in the morning, these paleo pancakes have become our go to breakfast. We buy the Birch Benders paleo pancake mix from our local grocery store. They’re delicious and all you need is water and you’ll have a warm breakfast in a jiffy. These pancakes contain 0g of trans fat and a whole 7g of protein per serving. They’re also BPA free, dairy free, grain free, and you guessed it- there’s not a drop of added sugar. Mic drop.

The mix does include monk fruit, which is an added natural sweetener from a plant, much like stevia. So because of this, we try to limit ourselves to these, but you can also follow my recipe below and make them from scratch for an even better and healthier version.

Top these off with some fresh fruit, and maybe a little bit of organic agave and you’ll be ready to conquer the day! Let me know if you try out my recipe below, and if you have any paleo recommendations or other delicious recipes, you know where to DM me, or comment below. Thanks guys!! Xo

Whit’s Recipe From Scratch:

Serves 4 (or two pancakes each for 2 people, but look out because 1 is pretty filling)

1 cup of coconut milk (or unsweetened almond milk)

3 tablespoons of coconut oil

4 eggs

1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

1/2 cup of coconut flour

1/2 cup of almond meal

1 pinch of sea salt

2 teaspoons of arrowroot powder

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Directions: Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and let sit for 1-2 minutes to thicken. Place the coconut oil on a hot pan before placing the mixture down so they won’t stick to the pan.

The Search is Off // BB20

Is anyone else a major Big Brother fan? Did you watch the latest BB20 season? Are you obsessing over Angela Rummans flashy silver necklace as much as I am?

Well, look no further because your girl finally found a replica. Let the screaming begin!!

BB20 season ended exactly three months ago from today, and the hunt continued every day since. I was determined to find the famously worn silver necklace which she wore literally every single day on the show. I’m a lover of simplicity and dainty jewelry calls my name, so naturally of course I was head over heels for it.

On 12/4, BB star, Angela, left it to Instagram to post:

‘Tis the season for giving. 🎁 I’ve had soooo many questions (actually) about where I got this bar necklace that I wore on the show, it came from a little boutique in Beverly Hills and I don’t even think it’s open anymore... sooooo I found one almost identical online and bought one to give away just because! 💚❤️ If you’re interested... comment below and tag a friend! I encourage you all to give this holiday season, no matter how small. #itsthelittlethings #givingtuesday

UGH! Why Angela? Whyyyy? Why you gotta tease me like that? Of course it was a “little boutique in BH” that is no longer existent. I was heartbroken, but she insists she found a identical necklace that she would like to give away. Why not share where you found the identical match since everyone BB fan out there is on the hunt for this? But nope. Let the search continue…

Thanks to many sleepless nights and countless IG comments, the #TangelaFans and I found the perfect replica: Park Lane Jewelry

This gorgeous piece is a perfect match! Its under $100, keeping it relatively affordable, and I love the subtle dainty design which is also lead and nickel free.
